On 24th November, we hosted an incredible Upcycled Soy Wax Candle Workshop with the talented Claudia from @thescentedgarden, and it was nothing short of magical! Held in a cozy, creative space (Pollice LightLab in Via Guido D'Arezzo, 11 - Milano), the event brought together a wonderful group of participants eager to learn, create, and embrace sustainability.
A Workshop to Remember
The workshop kicked off with an introduction to the world of soy wax candles and upcycling. Claudia shared her expertise, explaining the benefits of using soy wax—an eco-friendly, natural alternative to traditional paraffin wax—and the art of turning everyday items like cans and cups into beautiful, functional candle holders.
Participants then got hands-on, melting wax, adding their chosen scents, and customizing their creations with colors and designs. The room was filled with creativity as each person brought their vision to life. From vibrant patterns to minimalist designs, every candle reflected its maker's unique style.
The Joy of Upcycling
One of the highlights of the workshop was seeing how upcycled materials can be transformed into something new and beautiful. Participants brought in old cans, vintage glasses and jars, giving them a second life as charming candle holders. It was a true celebration of sustainability and the idea that beauty can be found in the unexpected.
Why It Matters
This workshop wasn’t just about crafting—it was about fostering a sustainable mindset. By repurposing materials and using eco-friendly soy wax, attendees not only made something meaningful but also contributed to reducing waste. Events like these remind us how small actions can have a big impact when it comes to caring for our planet.
