"L'arte di Rivalorizzare" Appcycled Pop-Up MFW21 - Appcycled

"L'arte di Rivalorizzare" Appcycled Pop-Up MFW21

We’ve just finished our first Pop-up event, and we are extremely proud of it!

First of all, we want to thank all the designers and participants; we are truly delighted with the excellent response and interest it has generated!

But now, for those who missed it, here's a brief recap:

L'arte di Rivalorizzare in english "The Art of Revaluing" took the form of a pop-up store in the center of Milan during Fashion Week (from September 23 to 26 in 2021). 7 of our most proclaimed upcycling designers had the opportunity to showcase their creations and share their stories through a mix of events, exhibitions, and live workshops.

Our goal was clear: to introduce our revolution in the fashion industry because sustainable fashion can and must exist!

The Appcycled temporary store was not just a physical space for exhibition and sales but an educational, ethical, and sustainable journey on how to revalue and reuse your clothing. A process where the creative input of designers adds value, reinterprets materials into new garments, and gives them a second life. A space to discover, match, and buy unique and sustainable pieces.

Many techniques, one project: reduce the environmental impact of fashion. From tailoring modifications to botanical dyes on fabric remnants, from embroidery to painting, each creative showcased and shared their way of recreating fashion with the sole purpose of creating unique and sustainable pieces.

The featured designers were:

  • Ambra Castello: Hand-crocheted nylon thread to create custom-made pieces with infinite life. Discover the circularity of her projects here.
  • Clarissa Balossi: The winner of the first Appcycled challenge, proposing 14 vintage pieces from famous brands re-imagined.
  • Creazioni Salesi: Reuses leather and fur scraps to create unique accessories.
  • Dennj: Sustainable and multifunctional fashion, creations crafted from vintage fabrics, furniture, and private donations. A refined and timeless look.
  • Giglio Tigrato: Hand-painted vintage pieces to give them a new face and sartorial collections using luxury and furniture deadstock.
  • Loropetalum design: Botanical prints and natural dyes to give new life to old fabrics.
  • Masha Maria: Upcycled fashion using tablecloths, sheets, and old blankets finding a second life in her creations.

We would like to thank Marta Guenzi, a Milanese image consultant, who on Saturday helped customers as a personal shopper, assisting them in enhancing their strengths and building a sustainable style that suits each of their personalities.

Thanks also to our partners Vegery, the first Veg food-delivery in Italy, Ibrida, the beer upcycled from unsold bread, and Wami Water with a mission.
